SIGNAL PERSON / RIGGER
The need for an accomplished industrial signalperson / rigger can never be underestimated, the most superior crane operator is only as good as the instructions they're given on the job site from a signalperson / rigger. To fully understand and comprehend the difficulty of industrial rigging and signalling, it takes a great deal of formal training and on-the-job experience.
Qualified signalpersons / riggers are required whenever workers are within the fall zone and hooking, unhooking, or guiding a load, or doing the initial connection of a load to a component or structure.
Our training personnel have developed the skill in rigging, and use this skill to present training on the wide array of equipment used today in the movement, positioning and placement of loads. Our course contents the below:
General requirements, duties and responsibilities of a Signalperson / Rigger
Mobile, overhead and tower crane functions
Hand and voice communications
Crane limitations created by radius, boom angle, load drift, two blocking, boom deflection,
dynamic loading, side loading, capacity limitations and quadrants of operation
Hazards and requirements of working around energized power lines
Regulations and Signalperson / Rigger responsibilities regarding the use of suspended
personnel platforms
